크랜베리스(The Cranberries) - Why

아일랜드 그룹 크랜베리스(The Cranberries) 의 보컬 돌로레스 오리어던(Dolores O'Riordan)의 갑작스러운 사망 소식은 개인적으로 슬픈 일이 될 거 같아요.

제게 크랜베리스의 곡들은 스무 살의 기억들과 같이 섞여있기 때문이에요.

90년대 중반 19살~21살 때의 기억들.

늦은 밤 들었던 고 정은임 아나운서의 '정은임의 FM 영화음악', 창간호부터 수백 권을 모았던 영화잡지 '씨네 21', 종로 개봉관과 변두리 동시 상영 극장들, 대학교 신입생 시절. 그리고 수많은 앨범들 한가운데서 유독 사랑했던 크랜베리스(The Cranberries).

한때는 국내 모던 록이라고 하면 항상 크랜베리스(The Cranberries)와, 독창적인 보컬이 나타났다 하면 돌로레스 오리어던(Dolores O'Riordan)과 비교하던 때도 있었던 그룹이었는데, 유튜브 시대에서는 TheCranberriesVEVO에 각 앨범의 대표곡들만 오래된 영상으로 남았더라고요.
